Long before web 2.0 became a buzzword, Pedrera created a custom blog application for the Wharton School MBA program. This social media project was completed in the Spring of 2002, and blogging software at this time didn’t fit the school’s requirements. So we built one from scratch. This was a full year before WordPress even existed.
At the time, incorporating a blog into a marketing program was a revolutionary concept. Working with Wharton, we needed to think creatively to answer such questions as “how do we handle blog entries that speak negatively of Wharton?” “Should Wharton exercise any editorial control?” “How can we articulate to senior admissions staff that student-created content fits within the school’s recruiting strategy?” These issues are all well documented now, but we were figuring out the “best practices” through experimentation many years ago.
Today, Pedrera continues to work with new and innovative social media technologies as we help our clients realize their marketing goals. And as with all our services, we leave out the hype and focus on what really matters – getting results.
Let's be social
Well, as "social" as one can be with hyperlinks, that is.
